  1. 47! Connecticut is the third of our 50 to legalize same-sex marriage – first was Massachusetts, followed by California. New York is on the right road: they are now required to recognize same-sex marriages that took place in other states where gay marriage is legal.

    And New Jersey and Vermont have civil unions, so I think it’s only a matter of time.
