Pardon the obscenity all up in the title, but heavens:
I got word from Boxcar Poetry Review today that my poem “Lot’s Daughters,” which they published in January, was nominated for both a Pushcart and a Best of the Net.
This is a triple-win: Clearly the prizes would be awesome – but that’s really just, you know, like, icing. The really exciting part for me is where the nom is coming from: Boxcar has been my favorite online publication for quite some time. The editor, Neil Aitken, has an impeccable eye for spotting good poetry, and I tried several times to get him to publish me before he took “Lot’s Daughters.” It’s incredibly validating that someone I respect and admire has found something to respect in my writing.
Woot!
So, cross your fingers and stuff. Even without an official win, it’s still a win.
p.s. to Ash: can I use “epic win” if I win?
That is wonderful! Congratulations Rachel!

Great news on a great poem…you shouldn’t be so surprised – the piece is stunning.

You totally rock! And I would be truly disappointed if you used anything less than “epic win.”
