So on Tuesday night, as I was settling in to wrap presents, I did this:
(that’s my foot, btw. Left foot. Broken tibia and fibula.)
After a few hours in the ER, some good pain killers, and a little manipulation by the Nurse Practitioner, it looked like this:

She did a fairly good job of getting everything back in the right place. However, the orthopedic doctor I saw yesterday decided that surgery might fix the problem for realz, so he whisked me off to the OR yesterday afternoon. A few hours later, I woke up in recovery with a plate in my leg, a huge splint-and-ace-bandage thing on my foot, and my toes sticking out like big fat sausages. HAWT. I have spent the past day and a half like this:
Awesome.
I hope your Christmas is going just as well, if not better!

How the hell did you do that?! I cringed in pain looking at the X-ray. I hope you feel better and your holiday was good. Take care of yourself and I will talk to you later.

Oooof, ma cherie! I guess Christmas injuries run in our (self-chosen) family. But surgery? My god!
Hope you feel better! If there’s any French delicacies that would speed your recovery, say the word and it’s yours!

Ah, feel better, Rach! Snuggle with your fat cats, and keep good books and media within reach!
